Free check · asks Gemini live, or Claude, Perplexity or ChatGPT if it is unavailable, with a second opinion from Perplexity

Gemini rank checker

Type your business and what you sell. We ask Gemini 3 buyer questions through Google’s API with Google Search on, and show whether each answer named you, your place when it recommended you in a list and who it named instead, with Perplexity asked the same questions as a second opinion.

Type it as a buyer asks Gemini: "roof repair in Omaha" or "inventory software for wineries".

Asks Gemini (or Claude, Perplexity or ChatGPT if Gemini is unavailable), then Perplexity for a second opinion. Free, no account, about a minute. Add your website and a link to it counts too.

The questions the check will ask

  1. Look up the best family dentist in Charlotte and rank your top five, with a one-line reason each.
  2. Who is the number one family dentist in Charlotte, and who would you list second and third?
  3. Search reviews and put the leading family dentist in Charlotte in order from strongest to weakest.

Gemini (or Claude, Perplexity or ChatGPT if Gemini is unavailable), then Perplexity for a second opinion searches the web for each answer. An answer to the same question is shared for 7 days.

How it works

Three steps, about a minute

  1. Step 1: Enter your business name, your website and what you sell, with the town if buyers name one.

  2. Step 2: We ask Gemini 3 shortlist questions with Google Search on (Claude or Perplexity stands in if it cannot answer).

  3. Step 3: Read your place in each list, the names Gemini gave instead of yours and the sites it read.

Questions where Gemini ranks local and online businesses

Gemini questions tend to carry a town, a budget or a deadline, and people ask it to sort the options rather than list them. Those are the answers where your place in the order matters.

  • Rank the top three pediatricians in Raleigh that take new patients.
  • Which painting contractor in Portland would you put first for an older house?
  • Sort the best-reviewed dog groomers in Austin by price.
  • What are the five strongest payroll apps for a landscaping company, best first?
  • Who ranks highest among wedding florists in Charleston?
  • Put the main point-of-sale systems for a coffee shop in order of value.
  • Which personal trainers in Boston are rated highest for older adults?
  • Rank the leading online bookkeeping services for a two-person law office.

The check asks 3. On Growth, Rankli asks 50 of yours every week on Claude and Gemini.

What decides your place in a Gemini answer

With Google Search on, Gemini reads results from Google’s index and then writes its own list. Your place in that list depends on what those results say about you, not on your position among the links.

  • Named, and where

The check reports whether Gemini named you and, when it recommended you inside a list, your place in it, such as #2. A name mentioned outside the list counts as named, with no place.

  • Search results it built the list from

Each answer that searched lists the sites it read. A competitor Gemini names instead of you is usually described on more of those pages, in plainer terms, than you are.

  • Facts the question turns on

Ranking questions to Gemini often hinge on a price, a town or opening hours. A business that states them in plain text on its site and its listings gives Gemini the fact it needs to sort by.

  • A Google ranking is not a Gemini ranking

Ranking first in Google puts your page among the results Gemini reads, but its written list can still put a rival first. The check reads Gemini’s answer, never the list of search links.

The settings Gemini checks, and how to get named

What one Gemini ranking check leaves out

  • The check asks through Google’s Gemini API with Google Search on. The Gemini app can also use a person’s location, Google account and past chats, so one buyer can see a different order.
  • Three questions on one day is a single reading. Growth asks Gemini 50 of your questions every week and reports how often you are named and where.
  • Gemini decides for itself whether to search. The report marks each answer as searched or from memory, because the two need different fixes.
  • A place is only reported when the answer recommends you inside a list, and your name has to match the one in the answer, so use the name customers know.

Frequently asked questions

Does this rank checker ask Gemini itself?

Yes, through Google’s Gemini API with Google Search on. If Gemini cannot answer at that moment, Claude or Perplexity stands in and the report names the assistant behind each answer. Rankli asks Gemini the same way every week on every plan.

Why do I rank on Google but not in Gemini’s list?

Your page being among the results is only the first step. Gemini then names whoever those results describe as the best fit, so a review site that praises a rival can outweigh your own page. Rankli shows each question you lose and writes the page that answers it.

Does Google-Extended affect my Gemini rank?

Blocking Google-Extended tells Google not to use your pages to train Gemini or to back its answers, while leaving Google Search as it is. If Gemini cannot use your pages, its list has less to say about you. Rankli’s free AI check reports how your settings treat it.

How often does my place in Gemini’s answers change?

Every answer is written when it is asked, from that day’s search results, so places can move week to week. Rankli asks every tracked question weekly, and again 7 and 14 days after each article goes live.

Can I track my Gemini rank every week?

Yes. Growth asks 50 of your questions every week on Claude and Gemini and shows how often you are named and where. It starts with a 7-day free trial.

Find every question you’re losing

Rankli asks Claude and Gemini the questions your customers ask, every week. It writes a page for each one you lose, publishes it to your site and asks again to show what moved.
