Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-09-27
These terms govern your use of Rankli, operated by Rankli (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you are accepting on behalf of a company, you confirm you have the authority to bind it.
1. What the service is
Rankli reads your website, researches keywords, plans a content calendar, writes SEO articles in your voice, checks each one against a published set of rules, and publishes it to the content platform you connect. It can also read your Google Search Console data, measure how AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude) answer questions about your category, and, on plans that include experiments, report whether your published work moved those numbers against a held-out control. The writing and publishing is the service; the measurement tells you what it did.
Articles are published to your site only through a connection you create and verify, and only in the mode you choose for it (draft for your review, or live). You are responsible for what is published under your name; the product gives you the checks, the scorecard and the editor to review every article before or after it goes out.
2. What the service does not promise
This section is the product, so it is written plainly:
- We do not guarantee any change in your AI visibility: not in citations, mentions, recommendations, traffic, or revenue. Rankli measures; it does not move the engines.
- Measurements are proxies. We query engine APIs, which bypass the browsing history and personalization that shape what any individual buyer actually sees. The same prompt can return materially different answers run to run; that is why every number we report carries an interval, and the interval is part of the measurement.
- The engines change without notice. A platform-side change can move every brand’s numbers in a month, independent of anything you or we did. The control arm exists to subtract that, but it cannot always succeed.
- “Inconclusive” is a valid result. When an effect cannot be separated from noise, the product says so and tells you what more data would be needed. An inconclusive readout is the service working as designed, not a defect.
- Per-plan “detectable effect” figures are indicative estimates. The real minimum detectable effect is computed per experiment from your own baseline variance and may be larger or smaller.
3. Accounts and access
Sign-in is by passwordless magic link sent to your email address; there is no password to set and none is stored. Anyone with access to your email inbox can access your account, so keeping that inbox secure is your responsibility. You must provide an email address you control and keep it current.
4. Plans, billing and cancellation
| Plan | Price | Articles a month | Sites | Tracked questions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Growth | $99/mo | 30 | 1 | 50 |
| Scale | $249/mo | 60 | 3 | 150 |
| Agency | $499/mo | 120 | 10 | 400 |
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe directly and never touch our servers.
- Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, one per account. A card is taken when the trial starts, and the trial runs on the full limits of the plan you chose. Unless you cancel before it ends, the trial converts automatically into that paid plan on day 8, and the first month is charged to that card then. If you cancel during the trial, nothing is charged, and the articles already written and published remain yours.
- An account that bought the former one-time trial before it was withdrawn keeps it on the terms it was sold under until its period ends.
- After the free trial, subscriptions bill monthly and renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel any day from the app, in one click. Unused articles for the month are refunded pro-rata. The refund is the paid month’s price multiplied by the share of that month’s articles still unwritten, rounded down to the cent, and is returned to the card you paid with.
- Plan limits (articles a month, sites, tracked questions) are fixed at the time of purchase for the current period. If we change a plan’s definition, existing subscribers keep their purchased limits until renewal.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice; changes apply from your next renewal, never mid-period.
5. Acceptable use
- Connect only websites and content platforms you own or are authorised to publish to, and track only brands and categories you have a legitimate interest in.
- Do not use the service to publish content that is unlawful, defamatory, infringing, deceptive, or that violates the terms of the platform it is published to or of the AI engines it measures. You review and approve what goes out under your name.
- Do not probe, overload, or attempt to bypass the service’s limits or security, and do not resell access to it. Publishing Rankli’s output for clients as part of your own service is permitted on the Agency plan, which exists for exactly that.
- The backlink exchange is opt-in. If you turn it on, links placed on your site and on others’ are held to the relevance floor the product publishes, and you may turn it off at any time; links already placed remain until either side removes them.
6. Your data and ours
You own the articles, images and calendars generated for your account, and the data you put in: your domain, brand voice, keywords, competitor list and category description. You may publish, edit and reuse the articles without restriction. The credentials you give us for your content platform are used only to publish and update your articles and to read the posts already there; we never publish anything you have not approved in the mode you chose for that connection, and you can revoke a connection at any time. We own the software, the writing and scoring rules, and the estimators. We may use aggregated, de-identified usage data to improve them; we will never publish or share anything that identifies your brand, your articles or your numbers without your consent. Details of what we store and where are in the privacy policy.
7. Third-party providers
Writing sends the pages we read on your site, your brand description and each article’s brief to our model provider, Anthropic, and measurement sends your tracked questions to OpenAI, Perplexity, Google and Anthropic. Those requests contain your brand name, your competitors’ names and category phrasing, and the providers handle them under their own terms, which govern how each uses and retains API traffic. Publishing sends the finished article to the content platform you connected, under that platform’s terms.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including decisions made on the basis of measurements that were, as disclosed, uncertain.
9. Termination
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical. On termination, we delete your account data as described in the privacy policy.
10. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email to the account address at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date is acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Rankli is established, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute arising from them is brought before the courts of that jurisdiction. Mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in are unaffected.
