Three steps, no account

    A phrase or a keyword. The more specific it is, the more specific the outline.

  2. We build the argument

    Define it, say why it matters, show how to do it, name what goes wrong, price it, and say how you would know it worked. That is the order a reader needs, and it is the same shape our own planner uses for an explainer.

  3. Copy it as markdown

    Headings only: no invented statistics, no made-up sources. You fill in the substance, which is the part that has to be true.

Frequently asked questions

Why headings only?

Because a heading is structure and a paragraph is a claim. An outline generator that writes "The three biggest 2026 trends" has invented three facts you now have to go and disprove. The outline is the part you can build before the research lands.

Will the outline pass an SEO check?

The hierarchy will: one H1 first, at least two H2s, no skipped levels. That is one of the hard rules our own article checker fails a draft on, and you can run the finished piece through it on this site.

Can I change the number of sections?

Not in the free tool. Delete the sections you do not need. An outline you cut down is easier to work with than one you have to argue up.

Is it different with a model configured?

Yes. With a model key configured, the outline is written for your specific topic. On the free page it is a template built around your subject, and the page names which one you got. Inside Rankli every outline is written for the topic and the brand voice.
