What is the exchange, and how does it work?
It is a credit market between customers. You earn a credit by hosting one relevant outbound link inside an article we wrote for you; you spend a credit to have a link to your site placed inside somebody else’s. Balances move only through a ledger, a credit market with a mutable balance and no audit trail cannot settle its first dispute.
How is a link placed in an article?
When we write a piece for a host site, the writer is offered the pool of requests whose topic actually matches the article, scored against it. The best-scoring one that clears 0.35 is written into the body as a normal editorial link with its own anchor text. If nothing clears the floor, the article publishes with no exchanged link at all.
Will the links be relevant to my niche?
That is the one property enforced rather than promised. A pairing below 0.35 is refused; it is not downgraded, queued or placed with a warning. Fewer placements is the intended outcome of a floor.
Is this safe? Reciprocal link schemes get sites penalised.
They do, and the penalty would land on your domain, which is why every guardrail above is a constant in the code rather than a paragraph in a policy. Direct reciprocity is refused, one link per article, 3 placements a week, a relevance floor of 0.35, no repeat targets. Every placement is an editorial link inside an article on your topic, which is the only kind worth having and the only kind this network places.
How quickly will my domain rating move?
Placements accrue at the rate other customers publish articles your topic fits, so the pace follows the network rather than a schedule. What you get every week is the list: where your links are, when they went live, and whether they are still there. That record is what makes a link you earned here defensible to anyone who audits it.
Is it included in my plan?
On every plan, at no extra cost, and off until you turn it on for a specific site. There is no separate backlink tier and no credit pack to buy, you earn credits by hosting, which is the only mechanism that keeps the network balanced.
What happens if a link is removed?
The placement is recorded with the article it went into, so a link that disappears shows as removed rather than silently continuing to count. We do not re-place it automatically; the credit ledger is the record of what you spent and what you got.

Never account-wide. Turning it on for one client site does not turn it on for the others, and the confirmation states what will happen before it happens.
A pairing that scores below this is refused outright rather than logged and placed anyway. Topical relevance is the whole difference between a citation and a scheme.
More than one exchanged link in a piece reads as a paid-links page to any reviewer looking at it, human or automated.
A rolling ceiling per host site however much it publishes, so no site in the network turns into a link farm.
A hosting B while B hosts A is the clearest footprint a link network leaves, and it is named directly in Google’s link-spam guidance. It cannot be requested and cannot be granted.
The same host never links the same target twice. That one is a rule in the database itself rather than a check in application code, so no code path can get around it.
