The fix list
Five changes, most important first, sent to DryPowder with this audit.
- Put the product in the homepage HTMLThe homepage carries 95 words before any script runs. Say in server-rendered text what DryPowder is (a database of 1,100+ VC funds with partner emails and Form D deployment signals), who it is for (founders raising pre-seed to Series A) and the starting price.
- Get onto the pages that answer "VC database with partner emails"This is the question where a product like DryPowder competes head-on, and the answers named at least ten rivals from roundups on investorlists.vc, qubit.capital, gritt.io, vcboom.com, fundmomentum.vc and waveup.com. Ask to be listed there, and publish an honest alternatives page that compares DryPowder with Crunchbase, PitchBook and OpenVC on partner emails.
- Make the Form D data the page that gets citedFor "which VCs just raised a fund" the answers cited dakota.com and edgar.tools, and for "seed funds investing now" they cited waveup.com and vc-mapping.gilion.com. A dated, server-rendered "funds that filed Form D this week" page and "most active seed funds this month" and "fintech seed funds deploying now" pages give the assistants a DryPowder page to quote.
- Label the product and answer the questionsAdd a SoftwareApplication JSON-LD block with an Offer (Starter, $39 a month, USD), and an FAQ on the homepage that answers the five buyer questions in their own words, marked up as FAQPage.
- Close the small gapsPublish /llms-full.txt, add og:title and a 1200x630 og:image, and link sign-up and contact from the homepage with plain <a href> links.
Questions
About this audit and how it was run.
Which assistant answered?
The free checker asks ChatGPT first. ChatGPT could not answer when these checks ran, so every question went to Claude (claude-haiku-4-5) through its API with web search on. These are Claude's answers, not ChatGPT's.
Why are the questions phrased three ways?
The free checker turns what a business sells into three questions a stranger would ask. Each of DryPowder’s five buyer questions went in as that phrase, so each was asked three ways, fifteen answers in all.
How was "named instead" decided?
From the stored answer itself: up to six of the firms and products it put forward, not always the first six or the full list. The full answers are stored with the date. Headings and job titles are left out. Nothing was added from memory.
Will the answers be the same if I ask today?
Not exactly. Assistants vary from one ask to the next, and the app a buyer uses can draw on their location and past chats. This page is a dated record of one day; the free trial asks the questions again every week.
