Free content brief generator
Everything a writer needs before the first sentence: a title, a meta description, the outline, the related phrases to work in, and the questions the piece has to answer.
How it works
Three steps, no account
Step 1: Keyword and audience
Both are required: the same keyword briefs differently for a buyer and for a practitioner.
Step 2: We assemble the brief
A working title under 60 characters, a meta description in the 130–160 range, the full heading tree, the phrase variants a searcher would also type, and five questions the article has to answer to be finished.
Step 3: Write it — or have it written
Copy the brief into your doc, or upgrade to Rankli and the same brief becomes a finished 1,500–3,000-word article, checked against fifteen on-page rules and published to your CMS.
Frequently asked questions
Do the related phrases come with search volume?
No, and that is deliberate. Real volume and difficulty exist only inside paid indexes. These are variants of the phrase you typed — the modifiers buyers actually add — and printing an invented number beside them would be the one thing that makes a brief dangerous rather than useful.
What is the difference between this and the outline generator?
The outline generator gives you the heading tree. The brief adds the title, the meta description, the related phrases and the FAQs — everything a writer needs to start without asking you a question.
Can I use the brief with another writing tool?
Yes. It is plain text with no lock-in, and you can copy each part separately.
What does Rankli add on top of a brief?
It writes the article in your measured brand voice, adds images with alt text, checks it against fifteen rules — seven of which will block a publish — and pushes it to WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Ghost or a webhook on the day the calendar says.
Ready to get started?
These tools do one step each. Rankli does the whole loop: it reads your site, plans a month of articles, writes them in your measured brand voice, checks each draft against fifteen on-page rules and publishes it to your CMS.
