Free check · asks ChatGPT live, or Claude if it is unavailable

AI visibility checker for accountants

Owners and freelancers ask ChatGPT who should do their taxes and keep their books. Enter your firm, your city and a service you want more clients for. We ask ChatGPT three of their questions and show whether it names you, or who it names in your place.

One service, the way a client says it: "bookkeeping for restaurants", "IRS audit help" or "tax prep for freelancers".

Asks ChatGPT (or Claude if ChatGPT is unavailable). Free, no account, about a minute. Add your website and a link to it counts too.

The questions the check will ask

  1. Who is the best accountant in Minneapolis for small business tax preparation?
  2. Which CPA firms in Minneapolis work with small businesses?
  3. How much does small business tax preparation cost in Minneapolis, and which firms do people use?

ChatGPT (or Claude if ChatGPT is unavailable) searches the web for each answer. An answer to the same question is shared for 7 days.

Questions business owners ask AI about accountants

Accounting questions name a kind of client, a deadline or a letter that arrived in the mail. Each one brings back a different set of firms.

  • Which CPA in Chicago does taxes for Etsy sellers?
  • Do I need an accountant for a single-member LLC in Texas?
  • Who can help me answer an IRS notice in San Diego?
  • Which bookkeeping service in Atlanta works in QuickBooks Online?
  • What does a CPA in Boston charge to file a partnership return?
  • Is there an accountant in Salt Lake City who works with landlords and rental properties?
  • Which accounting firm in Dallas offers part-time CFO help for startups?
  • Who is a good tax preparer in Brooklyn for freelancers with 1099 income?

The check asks 3. On Growth, Rankli asks 50 of yours every week on ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini.

What ChatGPT reads before it names an accountant

Asked for an accountant in a city, ChatGPT searches and reads firm sites, CPA directories and reviews. It names the firms those pages tie to the client and the service in the question.

  • A page for each kind of client

Clients ask for an accountant who knows their world: restaurants, landlords, creators, startups. A page for each client type, naming the returns and services you handle for them, is what ChatGPT can match to "an accountant for Etsy sellers".

  • CPA and EA credentials written out

Clients ask for "a CPA" by name. Put each person’s credential and licensing state on your team page as text. CPA directories and state board license lookups describe accountants too, and a match with your site tells one story.

  • Fees stated, even as a starting point

Clients ask what a return or a month of bookkeeping costs. A starting price, a flat monthly fee or the way you bill, written on the page, gives the answer something to say about your firm. "Contact us for a quote" gives it nothing.

  • The software your firm works in

Owners ask for an accountant who uses QuickBooks, Xero or Gusto, or who takes on clients mid-year. Naming the software you support and when you take new clients answers the detail those questions turn on.

What three questions tell an accounting firm, and what they leave out

  • The calendar changes the question. Extensions in April and year-end books in December bring different names. Growth asks 50 client questions every week, all year, and counts how often you are named.
  • It checks one service per run. Tax prep, bookkeeping and payroll are asked about in different words, and each gets its own answer.
  • Clients also ask about a problem, such as a letter from the IRS. Type that problem as the service to see who is named for it.
  • It reads the answer for your firm name and website. If clients know you by a partner’s name, run it again with that name.

Frequently asked questions

Why does ChatGPT name other accounting firms in my city?

Its search found pages that tie those firms to the question: the client type, the service, the city and reviews that agree. Your pages said less about one of those, or ChatGPT could not read them. Rankli lists every client question your firm is losing, names the firm that wins each one and writes the page that answers it.

Does ChatGPT know whether an accountant is a CPA?

It repeats what its sources state. Say on your site and your listings which of your people are CPAs, and in which state. Then an answer to "a CPA in Minneapolis" has that fact to use. Rankli’s free AI check shows whether ChatGPT can read those pages at all.

Should an accounting firm put its prices online?

Clients ask ChatGPT what tax prep costs, and an answer can only quote a figure it can read. A starting price and what moves it is enough. Rankli finds the cost questions your firm is losing and writes a page for each one.

Does tax season change who ChatGPT recommends?

The questions change with the calendar: extensions and late filing in spring, planning and bookkeeping the rest of the year. Each answer is written from what search finds that day. Rankli asks your tracked questions every week, so you see which season’s questions your firm wins.

Is the accountant check free?

Free, and it asks for no account or email. The 7-day free trial asks ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini up to 50 of your clients’ questions. Then it starts on pages for the ones you are losing.

Find every question you’re losing

Rankli asks ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini the questions your customers ask, every week. It writes a page for each one you lose, publishes it to your site and asks again to show what moved.
