The check asks Perplexity 3 questions with web search on, the way a customer's question reaches it: 1. Compare the leading standing desks for home offices and cite a source for each claim. 2. Which standing desks for home offices do independent reviews rate highest? List your sources. 3. Research standing desks for home offices for me: which names come up most, and why? (Shown with the page's example values; the check fills in yours.) For each answer it shows whether Perplexity named your business, who it named instead, and which sites it read. An answer to the same question is shared for 7 days, and the report says when it was given. ## How people research purchases on Perplexity People ask Perplexity to do the reading for them: gather reviews, compare specs, check prices and show where each claim came from. The check asks 3. On Growth, Rankli asks 50 of yours every week on ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. ## What Perplexity reads before it names a business Perplexity is built to answer from the web. Its guide for site owners describes two visitors, and between them they decide whether your page can be read, named and linked. ### The visitor that finds and links sites Perplexity says PerplexityBot is designed to surface and link websites in its search results. It recommends letting it in through your site settings (robots.txt). A rule that blocks every unnamed bot blocks it too. ### The visitor that reads while it answers When someone asks a question, Perplexity-User may visit a page to help answer it. The response can then link to that page. A page behind a sign-in form or a bot wall is one it passes by. ### Sources a researcher would open Research questions pull in review sites, comparison articles and forum threads as well as makers’ own pages.
